Starting Measurements

Well, it has been a great week so far. I have rebounded daily since Saturday for 45 mins. One day, I did another 15 minutes before going to bed. Did I mention that I may be addicted? I basically just do the health bounce for the first while to warm up then do different moves with my feet and hands alike for the duration of a song. I like music and find it helps me keep a tempo. I also have since added a pair of 1 1/2 pound dumbbells, as well. Let me tell you, this amps it up big time! I do a lot of bicep curls but also swing my arms out to the sides, up in the air,(this gets the blood pumping), and to the back. I also like to swing my upper body from side to side with my arms curled, (like at the end of a bicep curl) and out as if I am dancing the twist. My feet and legs swing together both simultaneously from left to right, this is for the abs. I can feel them working big time.

So that is what I do on the rebounder. I love it, some songs I just keep it to a good health bounce and the next I ramp it up a bit, by jogging faster and flailing my arms all over. I don' t really flail, but it might look like it to someone observing me.

This week is a busy one for me I have so much going on, lets see I am working a total of .... The math is too hard, basically I do not have a day off till sunday, but really I work an overnight shift Saturday and get home Sunday morning, so it is a sleep day for me. Some days 12 hours some 8, so I am not talking short days of work. Thankfully, I do not work as hard on some of jobs than I do on others. People are always asking me how I do it, keep 2 or 3 jobs, and I just shrug, matter of neccessity. For now anyway. So anyway the only reason I went on this ramble, was to show that if I can fit the 45 minutes in, plus taking care of a toddler, teenager and hubby as well, than really anyone can! Also, I think that the rebounding is helping me in the energy department.

Haha, my post title is starting measurements, and well, I think I may be procrastinating on posting them. I took them on Monday evening. But, before I do that.... I wanted to mention what else I am doing for this health revolution I am taking. :)

I have started taking Royal jelly and bee pollen. Granted I just started the pollen last night. The royal jelly I started about 2-3 weeks ago. I love it, I find it gives me energy and a clear mind. I used to be soooo tired on a 12 hour night shift around 5 a.m., and would take reading in to do to pass the time, but come that hour it was almost pointless to keep reading as I couldn't retain or follow what I was reading. Lately I must say, I am able to read the whole night and actually understand what it is I am reading. I almost feel I could go on, after being up 24 or so hours, but I usually go straight to bed, and sleep like a baby for a good 4 hours any way, (those days if I am not working another night shift I go to bed quite early as well. Anyway, that a lot more rambling, but I just wanted to let you know what else I am doing. Today I took a new Royal jelly supplement, the concentrated powder, with the bee pollen. Woe, I told my hubby that I felt like I drank 17 cups of coffee. Felt the buzz but without the jitters. So then I did my 45 mins on the rebounder.

So enough procrastinating, my starting measurements for the first week are: uhg...

Arm: 12 inches
Chest: 461/2 inches
Waist: 42 inches
Hips: 47 inches
Thigh: 23 inches

I guess I shouldn't be so negative, I have to start somewhere right? Here's to reducing these inches!!!

I have also decided to make this a 30 day rebounding challenge. Just for fun. First I thought a 100 day challenge but I don't think I am ready to commit to that. I can do 30 days tho, and maybe it will turn into 100 days. Time will tell. ;-) I already have 5 days under my belt!

Diet wise the week is going great, keeping within my point values, and making pretty good choices. I am looking forward to my trout this evening....

But, I digress... Till next time!

Official Start Week!

So I received the Reboundair on Friday and promptly started jumping on it, oh my goodness! You know the old adage "you get what you pay for?", well, it is amazing the difference between the bounce of the walmart brand and my new porche model! The bounce is.... springier (is that a word?) It also seems the mat has a touch more give to it, feels like the huge trampoline my parents had in their backyard for my younger sisters. I think this absorbs even more of the impact on the joints that the walmart kind does.

Oh, I have been thinking of getting a big one for our back yard, just reading the benefits, I know my kids are going to use it and love it, and be strong little **** !

So I did 30 minutes Friday, 45 mins Saturday and Sunday. Well Sunday was my official weigh in day and I lost .... wait for it!!!! 4 pounds!!! Granted I started following the ww plan, using all my points completely. Even the 49!! But there are there to use, right? I won't say how I managed to do that, well, ok. The weather hit +27 this week and was glorious, did. I mention it is March? I had to have beer, and well through out the week I had one or two an evening. Well even though they were light, they added up pretty quick!

I am not going to do that this week....

I am also going to get some measurements but for the life of me cannot find my measuring tape, but have a feeling it may be in my sons toy box... will find that tonight after work. ( I hope) Then I will get official starting measurements.

How do I feel, well, I got to admit, I think I may be addicted.I think I was dreaming I had to get up to start jumping.... My body isn't sore, per say, but it is a touch stiff, but not unbearable at all. I just know I have been working it. Oh and I have to mention, my bladder.... Well, if I have to sneeze and am out walking or well doing anything, I have to cross my legs inconspicably to make sure no leakage happens if you get my drift... Well I am sure this will strengthen my kegals, but I will keep you posted. ;-) I am not wetting my pants but can tell they, (my kegal muscles) need work.

These Pictures are were taken yesterday, March 25, 2012, by my son, we tried while I was bouncing hence the blurry one, then a front, back and side view standing still. I will try to do weekly pictures so see any difference between weeks.

So here's to week one!! Holding my coffee up, not a beer! :) It is only 8:00 a.m. after all

Rebounder Newbie

I have started this blog because although finding tons of articles on the benefits of rebounding, and alot of testimonials of people who use rebounders, I have not found much of actual before and after results of people who have used rebounding to lose weight.

I am a heavy 187 pounds the beginning of this week. I have recently joined weight watchers as well, and I am taking getting healthy seriously. My first week weigh in is this Sunday. I have a rebounder that I purchased from Walmart and it is not in good shape and should likely not even be on it. But, I am so patiently waiting for a ReboundAir from Ottawa. It is second hand but not very old, and I am told that it is in impeccable shape. I am so exited! I suspect this will be like having the porche of mini trampolines, compared to my Walmart one anyway. Exspecially now anyway, I fixed the couple of springs with a bungee cord, and well, it is not the same.

I purchased my walmart rebounder a few years ago, and know it is a good workout. You got to try it, you will see as well. I recently decided to take it up again, because I know it is fun. So I will be posting pictures and stats, and hopefully get you interested in rebounding as well.
